How many are left???
Today’s topic is a rant.
I unsubscribed from a mailing list today. Want to know why?
I’m tired of being lied to! I cannot stay subscribed to a list where the list owner thinks that his subscribers are idiots. This guy either thinks that his lists are full of newbies or idiots. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with being a newbie, we were all there at one time. I think that’s why this infuriates me so much, to know that people who are new to internet marketing are subscribed to his list and will believe whatever he sends down the pipe. We are all being taken advantage of!
So this guy sends out an email telling his list that a retired millionaire is giving away all his secrets (yeah, right!) and that you’d better hurry cause only 8 more packages were available when he was there. So I clicked on his link and what did I find when I get there?? That the URL was a Clickbank hoplink.
I’m able to do some research on my own, so I went to Clickbank and typed in the keywords I imagined would pull up the website and wha-la, there it was! A website that converts fairly well actually, pays good commissions and has a low refund rate. Lots of value for the money is what I understand from another marketer who is quoting yet another marketer. At least the second marketer I heard from about it from admitted that his list didn’t like the “only x number left” tactic.
According to the first marketer, this was going out to his list of 75,000 and I had better hurry if I wanted one of the packages for myself. Funny, every time I went to that page today there were still the same number of packages left. This my friends will tell you one of two things, either this guy has an AWFUL list, or the “urgency to order” that the website conveys is all a bunch of B.S.!
Now, I know it takes headline tricks to get your emails opened up nowadays, but that’s where the tricks should stop, at the headline. Don’t try and trick me into buying something!
I received yet another email from this guy this evening. Let me give you a few quotes from his last email:
“Sorry for 2 emails in 1 day… but time is really running out fast.”
But wait…here’s another:
“P.S. These copies may already be sold out when you get there. If they are sorry for the intrusion“.
Not to worry, you haven’t intruded at all. In fact, you’ll never intrude again … because I UNSUBSCRIBED!
You’ll never have to worry about any B.S. like this from me. Although I like making money and do promote products to my list, I would never trick anyone into buying anything because I stop and think of what it would be like to be in the other person’s shoes. Hmmm I wonder if I’ll ever make any money in this business?
Until next time…
P.S. I have purchased this product (but not through his link, I assure you) due to the expected value and I will be posting my review of it as soon as I’ve looked it over. The file is HUGE and on DSL took 28 minutes to download.
