I’ve created this page to add some useful information and helpful files for you to download.
.htaccess File For Redirecting Domain to a Sub-Folder
The first thing I have is an .htaccess file for you to download with instructions included in the file. I ran across this problem when I finished setting up this template in a sub-folder, then had gone too far with the design I felt, to go back and do it again on the main domain. I initially thought I would just go into CPanel and create a redirect. I did and it was successful…..or so I thought. When I viewed my site again, all of my images were gone! I went back in to CPanel, removed the redirect and everything worked great – all of the images were back.
My initial thought was to back up the Wordpress installation and then re-install it on the main domain instead of the sub-folder, but I was looking for the easiest and most effective way to get the job done, so I did a little search and found this info on Site5.com’s blog. I’ve created the .htaccess file and included instructions and a link to the original article.
Twitter Images
I’ve created some free Twitter images for your use. Just right click on an image and choose “save image as” in Firefox or “save picture as” in Internet Explorer.
These images are transparent .png files so Internet Explorer 6 and below does not recognize the images. You will need to make sure you have a javascript file in your root directory and a link to the script in the html of your page or the images won’t show up for people using those browsers. You can download the zipped file with the javascript and instructions here.
